PATRICK GARBIN is a freelance journalist who has been recognized as an authority and historian of college football and one of the foremost historians of Georgia Bulldogs football. He has written 11 traditionally published books, nine of which are related to University of Georgia football. Patrick's latest book, The Road to Georgia, co-authored with Jake Reuse of DawgsHQ with the foreword written by Mark Richt, was released during the fall of 2021.
Patrick is the primary Research Writer, and secondary Team and Recruiting Writer, for UGASports.com of the Rivals network and Yahoo! Sports. He has made numerous public appearances, speaking to groups primarily on the topics of college football and the book publishing industry. Patrick also has participated in dozens of book signings, been featured in radio and television interviews, and has conducted hundreds of player and coach interviews for his work.
Notably, because of Patrick’s persistent efforts, the University of Georgia’s athletic department reestablished the Hugh Hendrix Memorial Award beginning in 2014 after the honor had been mistakenly discontinued by the UGA football program for more than 20 years.
